Luna’s Little Library started Diversity Month in November 2015, along with exclusively reviewing diverse books my blog hosted numerous guest posts by amazing authors. For example, Alexia Casale who’s book House of Windows was added to the Reading Well – books on prescription list, plus posts by Candy Gourlay and number 1 New York Times Bestselling author Marieke Nijkamp and many more.
2016 was even better. Publishers, authors and bloggers were hugely supportive and came together with guest posts by Patrice Lawrence winner of the Waterstones Children’s Book Award. As well as 2016 YA Book Prize shortlist author Catherine Johnson, award winning Kiran Millwood Hargrave, plus Brian Conaghan and Leah Thomas just to name a few.
If you wish, you can see the full list of posts for the previous two years here: https://lunaslittlelibrary.wordpress.com/category/diversity-month/
I hope to repeat Diversity Month again in November this year. As with 2016 I want to provide a platform for authors, publishers and bloggers to highlight diversity books and issues. As well as making the effort to incorporate #ownvoices stories.
