Genre: Anthology / Short Story Collection
Review: I’m always so torn with short story collections. On the whole I tend not to be a fan. I never feel like I can connect to characters enough, which is a big thing in my reading.
This anthology has so many authors in there that I love reading. Plus so many of the stories give you pause for thought. To balance, you have contributions like Katy Cannon’s which give you that warm fuzzy moment.
The story that stayed with me the most was Holly Bourne’s. It’s the ending that has you wondering and I wish I could find out more about the characters. Also Lisa Williamson’s, which is based on her talks with members of Crisis was something to make you sit up and take note.
I’ll Be Home for Christmas is a great idea and I was impressed by how varied and emotional (there are some pretty tough reads in there) the selection is.
