Nimona is an impulsive young shapeshifter with a knack for villainy. Lord Ballister Blackheart is a villain with a vendetta. As sidekick and supervillain, Nimona and Lord Blackheart are about to wreak some serious havoc. Their mission: prove to the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin and his buddies at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren’t the heroes everyone thinks they are.
But as small acts of mischief escalate into a vicious battle, Lord Blackheart realizes that Nimona’s powers are as murky and mysterious as her past. And her unpredictable wild side might be more dangerous than he is willing to admit.
How did I get the book? I bought it
Review: Nimona came so highly recommended by so many of my friends that I ended up losing track of the amount of times I heard “you need to read this” and now I’m adding my voice YOU NEED TO READ NIMONA.
A fantasy graphic novel that has Nimona, a magical shapeshifter, as sidekick to Lord Blackheart. They should be the bad guys but much to Nimona’s frustrations Lord Blackheart just has too many morals.
Nimona is a marvellous character, I loved her. Nimona and Lord Blackheart relationship throughout the book makes for excellent reading. He tries to reign her in but that is nearly impossible, yet both of them do seem to really care for the other.
The story is entertaining, packed full of intrigue, excellent characters and fun. I wasn’t so keen on the text-font but got used to it soon enough, but that is miniscule complaint – overall this Nimona is just entertainment from start to finish.
