This Saturday (26th Sep) was my first day at the Bath Children’s Literature Festival, which was also the first time ever I’ve attended Bath Kid’s Lit Fest… and you know what? Starting it with The Big Cuddle by Michael Rosen and Chris Riddell was the way to go. Michael Rosen had the entire audience join in with the poems from their book, while Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell drew wonderful narrative pictures as the event unfolded, including a morris dancing Michael Rosen.
After this I attended the Joe Sugg event, where I found the audience’s enthusiasm a little overwhelming. The creative process behind Username Evie sounded interesting. Everyone was given a signed copy of the graphic novel, so I’ll let you know what I think of it soon.
My final event for the day was Patrick Ness, who treated us to a reading of The Rest of Us Just Live Here before discussing writing, books, the importance of ‘not peaking in high school’ and much more.
It was a great way to end a brilliant day.
Can’t wait to see what comes next…. 😀
