Blogshop at StorytellersInc – Tuesday 1st July 2014

I’m here to tell you about something special starting at StorytellersInc on Tuesday 1st July 2014

blogshop

Katie (owner) has written a great post about blogshop here
I wanted to quote this:

If you’re on twitter, like me, and you follow lots of publisher and publicity folk you can’t fail to notice the growing importance of bloggers. They’re becoming quite a significant part of the industry and in my relatively short 3.5 years of trade experience a lot of them outweigh my own industry presence. Publishers hold brunches for them, send them limited edition proofs and finished copies, offer them competitions with super prizes and look to them for opinions, quotes and feedback. They can be a giant factor in the success of a particular title, in short bloggers sell books…but bloggers also buy books. Bloggers love books. Bloggers love people who love books and I’m hoping that all means most bloggers love bookshops.

Can’t speak for every blogger, but pretty much everyone I’ve met loves buying books. If I just think about my friends and I can say we plan book buying excursions. Those blogger brunches Katie mentions, afterwards we head out to bookshops…

Getting back on track, the idea behind blogshop existing and new bloggers to come together and talk about books. So come at 8pm on Tuesday 1st July 2014 there will be experienced bloggers there BUT if you’re thinking about starting a blog or want to know more about reviewing – come!

As the poster says: Make Friends, Discuss Books & Eat Cake.

If you have any questions just message Katie on twitter or email.
