Flood and Fang (The Raven Mysteries #1) by Marcus Sedgwick I only bought the book because of the opening sentence:
I suspect I may have fleas again.
Seven words and I knew I couldn’t leave the shop without it. It’s a clear voice and the more Edgar (an old raven suffering from said fleas) tells us about Otherhand Castle and its occupants the more I fell in love with this book. I absolutely adored the writing.
