Top Ten Authors That I’d Put On My Auto-Buy List
Basically an auto-buy list is no questions asked… you love this author so much that no matter what they wrote next you’d buy regardless of genre or subject matter.
While there are many debut authors that I think are amazing I decided that I needed to have read at least 3 books before I could put them on the list.
Sunshine is my favourite book; I mean I award Sunshine Stars on my blog. I started with Spindle’s End and since I have collected all the others. I award myself with Robin McKinley books when I need cheering up.
Everything I’ve read so far has been wonderful and Shadows on the Moon was without a doubt the best book I read last year so I can’t wait for the next one and the one after that and the one after that…
I read Megan many years ago but recently I’ve started on the historical fiction and they’re wonderful. I’m pretty sure I’ve bought them all and only have a few left to read.
I still find it amazing that despite not liking any of Cat Clarke’s protagonists I’ve read all her books and will gladly argue that they are all great stories to read. I think the fact that her characters are so flawed makes them more realistic and by default makes the stories that much better. Plus the endings, wow.
After The Butterfly Novel’s (and a massive box of tissues) I know I NEED to read whatever comes next.
It’s hard to explain but there is something about Amy Tan’s books and the style that make them really special. I read one and ended up reading all the others within 3 months. Can’t wait to see what The Valley of Amazement will be like.
Loved Della OMG and the HEARTS series is great. Apart from the humour and great characters Keris completely won me over by putting my home town in Della, which was many kinds of cool.
Anyone that can make me love a paranormal romance trilogy deserves to be on my instant buy list.
Yes it’s Manga and yes it’s a team not a single author but I love them. I have managed to collect almost every series (either as an English or German translation) and various art books.
Hot Key Books
Again not an author but actually a new publisher, I don’t buy everything but it’s pretty close too. I’ve never really shopped by publisher before but ended up buying quite a few of Hot Key’s titles last year and some of them I only picked up because they were Hot Key Books.
What about you?
