How did I get the book? I bought it.
Genre: Contemporary
First Impression: Why not.
Synopsis: Unlucky in love Jo is dragged along to see a clairvoyant by her two coupled-up best friends, and is told that there’s only one boy for her. The trouble is, the last time she saw him was in a past life, when she worked as a governess to his younger brother. The clairvoyant tells her that as she is back in this life, so is he, and she must find him if she is ever to know true happiness and love.Jo doesn’t believe a word of it – but then a series of events begin to change her mind. Could her one true love really be out there? In her quest to find the One, she visits psychics and cemeteries – but will she even be able to recognize her soul-mate when she finds him? Or is she destined to continue looking for love for all of time.
200words (or less) review: I picked Love at Second Sight up because I was in the mood for cute and fuzzy and based on those expectations this book didn’t disappoint.
Jo’s story is interesting and a nice way to spend a few hours. The idea behind this book certainly works at peaking your interest and I guess depending on the your viewpoint on reincarnation it’ll either pull work or not. For me Jo is a little too fussed on the boyfriend quest and I was surprised to find out she’s 17 not younger. Jo starts out as a big skeptic but then in the second half of the book she’s on a mission to find Howard.
Love at Second Sight is well written and has enough interesting moments to keep you turning the pages until the end. I think if I liked Jo a little more I would have been more involved in her quest but I still had fun reading.
